A New Jersey couple was arrested on Tuesday for, among other things, allegedly running a prostitution ring out of the gated retirement community they call home.
Anne Donahue, 33, and Phillip Cottone, 40, are not exactly senior citizens, but that apparently didn't stop them from using their residence in Leisure Village, a Manchester Township retirement community, as the site to which they directed clients for sex. And they might have gotten away with it, too, if not for one unsatisfied customer telling police he was robbed after the pair insisted he pay, despite arriving at the home to find that Donahue "did not resemble the photos" on the service's website," the Asbury Park Press reports.
Both Donahue and Cottone have also been charged with robbery, criminal restraint, theft, prostitution, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of hypodermic syringes, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators learned that around 600 vehicles have visited the couple's home since August. According to the Leisure Village website, the gated community is welcome to residents 55 and up, so it's unclear how Donahue and Cottone made the cut. Perhaps it's because they did such a superb job embodying the community's tagline?
